In a typical nail course you will train in working with advanced nail technology like gel, acrylics, fiberglass, sculpting and airbrushing, as well as perfecting nail design, art and maintenance.

It is far more than just the simple manicure and pedicure. you will get extensive hands on training and have a sample salon to work on prospective clients, under the supervision of your licensed instructors. If you do well, those sample clients could become future clientelle when you have your own salon or have a permanent job, and networking even during the training period, is important for a successful career.

If you attend any one of the many nail schools, you will more than likely begin your network of clients right away, and that will give you more success in your future career. Nail technicians are supposed to increase by 28% between 2006 and 2016, but the ones who will be busiest are the ones who will have had the formal training and gotten a good customer base already established. It may not be the highest level job, but it will get you a foot in the door to allow you to prove your talent.
